We are parents in North Coastal San Diego raising children who receive special education services. Together, we are building a support network to share experiences, resources, and encouragement as we navigate the unique challenges—and celebrate the joys—of raising kids with disabilities.
To foster the inclusion, respect, and understanding of children with disabilities in our community.
To serve as a support network to families of children with disabilities in our community.
To help educate parents on topics related to special education and disability programs through monthly information meetings and newsletters.
To organize and promote programs in our community for all children to raise awareness, acceptance and understanding of our differences, as well as our similarities.
Special education gives instruction and supports that are specially designed to meet the unique needs of a child whose disability affects his or her educational performance or ability to learn in a regular classroom. These special services are provided at no cost because state and federal law requires that all children in public schools who are eligible for special education receive a free and appropriate public education. A child who is found eligible for special education may receive a variety of services, including speech and language therapy, psychological services, physical and occupational therapy, and counseling services. The child may also receive transportation and other supports needed to access and benefit from his or her education.

We recognize the need to build a community and create events to meet new friends, share resources, collaborate and support each other.
